Reconstruction of the road “Murat Toptani”
The design project for the reconstruction of Murat Toptani street brings the whole segment at one level. Nevertheless, the space is perceived as three different segments due to the utilization of the modular granite tiles varying in color between tones of grey, that slowly make the transition from one zone to another, thus defining the different functions that each of them will host. The logic of modularity and gridiron is applied to the urban furniture as well. Special attention is dedicated to the area around the archaeological site so that the castle remains un-touched. The dominant material is corten, selected for its old, rustic look that harmonizes with the context.
